Naver webtoon ‘The Girl Downstairs’ is a romantic comedy of ex-celebrity Doona who comes to live in shared house with a college freshman named Joon.
Lee Joon moves to Minsong University to be close to his first love, Kim Margo. He rents a room in a shared house in front of the university, hoping to kindle a romance with Margo.
However, he keeps running into a girl who lives downstairs, and she has a bold and spunky personality. As he tries to remember where he has seen her before, he recalls a name that sticks in his mind - Doona Lee, a member of the girl group Sweet Dream.
While his relationship with his crush, Margo, is stalled, he’s growing closer to Doona, who lives downstairs.
His feelings are further complicated when he meets Choi Ira at a university meeting.
Based on the webtoon, the drama “Doona!” aired on Netflix on Oct. 20. 2023.
