Bebefinn Playtime, an animated series based on The Pinkfong Company’s famous baby shark, topped Netflix in eight countries around the world.
In addition to the U.S., Bebefinn Playtime ranked No. 1 in the Kids category in Korea, the U.K., Australia, Canada, Ireland, Singapore, and South Africa.
This marks the first time a Korean animated series has reached the top spot on Netflix in the U.S. since Bebefinn’s original series became the first Korean animated series to do so in October of last year, and the spin-off content has also reached the top spot globally in about two months. In three other countries, Hong Kong, New Zealand, and Sweden, it reached the top five.
The Pinkfong Company launched Bebefinn on YouTube in April 2022 and signed a deal with Netflix in December of that year to bring Bebefinn content to Netflix in 190 countries around the world.
As of January this year, the company has accumulated 24 million subscribers on YouTube.
Unlike the original, which featured Finn, the youngest member of the Bebefinn family, the new Bebefinn Playtime features Bora and Brody, the eldest two siblings. It features easy-to-follow activities and games for the whole family to play at home during the school vacation season.
