Samsung beat rival Apple in customer satisfaction, according to a survey disclosed recently.

Unlike iPhone 15 users who are disappointed with poor battery life of newest iPhone, Galaxy users are happier with their purchases on account of Galaxy S24′s better camera and on-device artificial intelligence features.

9to5mac said on Feb.14 that PerfectRec’s latest report based on the user-generated Google reviews indicates 91% of users gave the base model Galaxy S24 five stars and 88% gave all stars to the S24 Ultra. PerfectRec measured the satisfaction index based on the percentage of reviewers that give the product five stars on a five-star scale.

For the iPhone 15 series, the satisfaction rate was 76% for the base model, 77% for the Plus, and 74% for the Pro and Pro Max. Overall satisfaction rates of Galaxy S24 models outpaced those of the iPhone 15 series.

This marks the first time the Galaxy S series customer satisfaction has surpassed that of the iPhone. According to PerfectRec’s index for the past five years, the iPhone - from iPhone 11 launched in 2019 to iPhone 14 in 2023 - received ratings between 77% to 84%. The ratings for the Galaxy series in the same period - Galaxy S20 to S23 - were only 61% to 75%.

9to5mac cited poor battery life as the reason for the low customer satisfaction among iPhone 15 users. Tech YouTuber John Tech, who has 1.5 million subscribers, tested the battery performance of Galaxy S24 Ultra and iPhone 15 Pro max under the same conditions and confirmed that the former lasted about 50 minutes longer. Apple has blamed battery charging for its iPhone 15 overheating, causing disappointment in battery life among buyers.

Meanwhile, Galaxy S24 series owners are highly satisfied with the camera performance and live translate call. Google reviews of Galaxy S24 buyers include “The 50-megapixel, 5x telephoto camera improved image quality greatly,” “There is no loss of image quality even at 10x zoom,” and “Live translate is a very interesting and useful feature.”
