Samsung Electronics has announced that it will introduce Galaxy AI features on some of its key models, including the Galaxy S23 launched last year. Currently, Galaxy AI features are exclusively available on the Galaxy S24, which was unveiled in January. However, this move represents an expansion of support for these features.

Samsung Electronics announced on Feb. 22 that it will roll out the software update to nine models, including the Galaxy S23 series (S23-S23+-S23 Ultra), Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold5, Galaxy Z Flip5, and Galaxy Tab S9 series (S9-S9+-S9 Ultra), starting at the end of March.

With this update, users of these models will be able to use AI-powered communication features such as real-time interpreter of 13 languages, and chat assistant, which translates messages and changes tone. Other features include Circle to Search, which allows users to search by simply circling a word, note assist, which simplifies and organizes complex texts, and browsing assist, which translates and summarizes internet pages into their preferred language.

Users can also edit photos efficiently with generative editing, which lets users fill in parts of a photo or delete and move objects based on generative AI, and edit suggestions, which lets AI analyze user’s photos and recommend editing tools. When watching videos, the Instant Slow-mo feature allows users to watch videos in a natural slow motion effect.

“Within the year, we will equip over 100 million Galaxy devices with Galaxy AI, opening up limitless possibilities for mobile AI” said Roh Tae-moon, president of Samsung Electronics’ MX Business.
