Summary

Koo Ja-yeol, Chairman of the Board of LS Corp, is the eldest son of Koo Pyong-hwoi, Honorary Chairman of E1 Corporation. He graduated from Korea University with a degree in Business Administration and joined Lucky Goldstar International (now LX International, formerly LG International) in 1978. He served as the head of the international division at LG Investment & Securities and as the vice president of the finance division at LG Cable. Since the division of the LG Group, he has been continuously involved in the management of the LS Group. He has held various positions including vice chairman and chairman of LS Cable, and currently serves as the chairman of the LS Cable & System and LS Mtron business divisions.

He is known as an active and challenging manager. Since 2010, he has shown great affection for science and technology, serving as the Chairman of the Science and Technology Committee of the Federation of Korean Industries (currently Korea Business Federation) and the Board of the Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology. He is also a cycling enthusiast, sometimes commuting by bicycle. Since 2009, he has served as the President of the Korea Cycling Federation, devoting efforts to nurturing amateur athletes.
