Summary
Park Jeong-won, the 10th Chairman of Doosan Group, is the eldest son of Park Yong-kon, the 3rd generation chairman, and the first 4th generation executive from the founding family. He has been the chairman of Doosan Group since March 2016. He is credited with quickly resolving the financial difficulties that began with the real estate project financing troubles of Doosan Construction, which also affected Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction, through the sale of subsidiaries and other assets. Following this, Doosan Group has been looking for new growth opportunities in various business areas including Doosan Bobcat, Doosan Fuel Cell (hydrogen fuel cells), Doosan Robotics (collaborative robots), and Doosan Tesna (semiconductor post-processing).
Park Jeong-won joined Doosan Corporation in 1985. He became the executive managing director of Oriental Brewery (OB Brewery) in 1994, and in 1999 he became the vice president and CEO of Doosan. In 2001, he became the president and CEO of Doosan, followed by the vice chairman in 2007, and then became the chairman of Doosan E&C and the owner of the Doosan Bears baseball team in 2009.
