Summary
One of the second-generation members of LS Group’s founding families, is leading LS Group since last year as a chairman. Spun off from the larger group in 2003, LS Group was co-founded by the three younger brothers of LG Group founder Koo In-hwoi. Chairman Koo Ja-eun succeeding his cousin Koo Ja-yeol, is the only son of Koo Doo-hwoi, the former honorary president of Yesco.
Koo Ja-eun has worked for GS Caltex, LG Electronics, LG Corp., LS Nikko Copper, LS Cable and System, and LS Mtron. He has worked in various business fields, ranging from electronics, oil refining, non-ferrous metals, machinery and telecommunications. He is expected to lead the digital transformation, being the most capable leader in leading LS to the LS Group’s second leap in the next decade.
LS Corp. is the holding company of the group, which comprises Korea’s top wire and cable producer LS Cable & System Ltd.; LS-Nikko Copper Inc., the world’s second-largest electrolytic copper maker; LS Electric Co., an electrical equipment and automation systems maker; and LS Mtron Co., a machinery and components manufacturer.
