Samsung Electronics released on Tuesday a 10-megapixel camera phone. The SCH-B600 made its debut at the CeBIT IT expo in Hanover, Germany in March, taking the global industry by surprise.

The electronics maker released a 7-megapixel camera phone in July last year and took less than a year to launch a 10-megapixel one.

The gadget also enables users to receive satellite mobile TV despite being 6 mm thinner and 10 grams lighter that the 7 megapixel phone. It has a trimming function for pictures so users can personalize the screen and send multimedia messages.

It also has Bluetooth so users can send pictures to nearby phones or print them wirelessly from their computers. It has an MP3 player and audio book function in English, Korea, Chinese and Japanese for downloads via Anycall Land, the electronics maker said.

The phone is to be released via SK Telecom, the nation's largest mobile carrier, and will cost upwards of W900,000(US$1=W960).
