Kia Motors' luxury K9 and Opirus sedans suffered the humiliation of being included among the top 10 copycat cars in the world. U.S. auto magazine Jalopnik picked out "the most obvious examples of automotive plagiarism."
The Kias are the only Korean models on the list. Besides Japan's Mitsuoka Viewt and the Philippines' Great Wall Coolbear, the other six models are Chinese.
The magazine said that the K9 "apes almost every feature" of the BMW 5 Series GT and BMW 7 Series, and that "all Kia have to do is connect the middle of the grill and it’ll be a full fledged Bimmer."
The Opirus "takes all the elements of upper class luxury" and resembles the Jaguar S-Type and Mercedes E-Class.
