Samsung Electronics paid the highest average salaries in Korea last year.

The company's average annual salary was W127 million in 2020, up 17.6 percent from the year before (US$1=W1,131).

Second was SK Telecom at W121 million, followed by POSCO at W98 million, SK Hynix at W93.6 million, LG Chem at W93 million, Kia at W91 million, KT and Hyundai at W88 million, LG Electronics at W86 million, LG Uplus at W79 million and LG Display at W70 million.

Salaries rose sharply among online and game companies, which had a bonanza in lockdown. The average salary at Naver, Kakao and NCsoft surpassed W100 million for the first time. It was W108 million at Kakao in 2020, up more than 30 percent, while at Naver it was W125 million at NCsoft W155 million.
