The majority of the total stock valuation of individual shareholders holding Korean culture and content stocks is attributed to Hybe’s Chairman, Bang Si-hyuk’s Hybe shares, which are valued at more than $2.3 billion(3 trillion won), according to a recent report. Additionally, the artist group BTS was found to have shares worth more than $9.2 million held by all of its members.
Korea CXO Institute, a corporate tracker, has recently released the results of its analysis of individual shareholders holding cultural and content stocks in Korea. The analysis has shown that there are 34 individual shareholders who possess stock wealth exceeding $7.6 million in this sector. The total amount of stock wealth held by these shareholders is $3.6 billion.
Hybe’s Chairman, Bang Si-hyuk, is the largest shareholder in this sector. He holds 13.15 million shares of Hybe’s stock which are valued at $2.8 billion, accounting for 65.8% of the total value. Bang’s value has increased more than $900 million just in 10 months.
The Hybe shares of seven BTS members were also estimated to be worth more than $7.6 million each.
Among the members, SUGA, Jimin, V, and Jungkook were valued at more than $12 million respectively. J-Hope and RM held 62,784 shares ($11 million) and 58,000 shares ($10 million) each, while Jin owned more than 52,385 shares ($9.3 million).
The individual stock wealth of each member has increased by nearly 20 percent compared to February of this year, with each member’s stock value rising by more than $1.5 million.
Following Bang Si-hyuk, the second most valuable individual in this exclusive ‘10 Billion won($7.6 million) Club’ is JYP Entertainment’s founder and Chief Creative Officer, Park Jin-young, whose stock is valued at $38 million. YG Entertainment’s executive producer Yang Hyun-suk ranks third with a worth of $12 million.
