Xiaomi announced on Jan. 6 the establishment of its Korean subsidiary, Xiaomi Korea, as part of efforts to strengthen its presence in the local market. The company plans to unveil a diverse lineup of smart devices on Jan. 15, spanning five categories: smartphones, wearables, TVs, robot vacuum cleaners, and power banks. The range will cater to various consumer needs with products priced from budget-friendly to premium.
The smartphone lineup will spotlight two key models: the flagship Xiaomi 14T and a new addition to the Redmi Note 14 series, which emphasizes practicality and affordability.
The Xiaomi 14T is the first Leica co-developed smartphone to debut in South Korea. Equipped with Leica’s Summilux optical lenses, it offers four focal lengths, from 15mm to 100mm, enabling versatile photography across diverse subjects, including landscapes and portraits.
The device also integrates advanced AI features. Google’s Gemini AI Assistant supports intuitive voice controls, while Circle to Search allows users to quickly access on-screen information. The 6.67-inch AMOLED display delivers vibrant visuals with a peak brightness of 4,000 nits and a 144Hz refresh rate.
In the mid-range segment, the Redmi Note 14 series is notable for its durability. It features Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and IP68-rated water and dust resistance, ensuring protection against everyday shocks and scratches. The device also includes a 200-megapixel main camera capable of capturing sharp images in low light and offers up to 30x zoom.
Following its global launch on Jan. 10, Xiaomi Korea will introduce one model from the Redmi Note 14 series to the South Korean market on Jan. 15.
“With the establishment of our Korean subsidiary, we aim to engage more closely with local consumers and deliver tailored products and services that offer differentiated value,” a Xiaomi Korea representative said.
