On Jan. 7, CES 2025, one of the world’s largest and most influential technology trade shows, opened in Las Vegas. Organized annually by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), the event drew global attention with groundbreaking innovations across IT and consumer electronics. Among the numerous exhibitors, South Korea’s Barunsengkak, better known as BRSG by Convenience, garnered significant interest with its booth titled “BRSG Grocery Store.”

Beneath the booth’s bold signage was an eye-catching illustration of the company’s latest product, the “Man Seed Checker,” an at-home sperm testing device. A description accompanying the display introduced BRSG as “South Korea’s No. 1 sexual wellness products brand.”

The “Man Seed Checker” is designed to provide a quick and convenient way to assess sperm quantity and quality. Users simply apply a semen sample to the device, position its observation lens—a small aperture—over their smartphone camera, and view the sperm’s condition directly on their phone screen.

BRSG, widely known as the top-selling condom brand at South Korea’s leading health and beauty chain, Olive Young, used CES 2025 to showcase its expanded portfolio. Alongside its flagship products, including condoms and lubricants, the company unveiled several innovations, such as the “Man Seed Checker,” the “Gel Hello Baby” fertility-enhancing lubricant, and the “Climax Controller,” a training device designed to address both premature and delayed ejaculation.

“This exhibition offers an opportunity to redefine BRSG as more than a product-focused brand,” a company representative explained. “We aspire to position ourselves as a comprehensive provider of sexual wellness solutions, meeting customers’ evolving needs at every life stage. Starting with CES 2025, we plan to expand exports to key Asian markets, including China, Taiwan, and Mongolia.”

While tech giants dominated headlines with advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics, CES 2025 also highlighted unique startups with unconventional technologies.

Camelotech, a South Korean startup specializing in herbal medicine standardization, attracted attention with its innovative HAP System. This automated manufacturing system packages herbal remedies into cartridges and processes them based on prescriptions from traditional Korean medicine doctors. Capable of producing up to two boxes of herbal medicine in under five minutes, the system allows patients to receive their prescribed remedies almost instantly. Already gaining traction in clinics for its efficiency, the HAP System exemplifies how traditional industries can embrace manufacturing innovation.

Startups focused on sustainability also made a strong impression at the event. Taiga, a company specializing in biofilters, air purifiers, humidifiers, and building materials derived from moss, stood out for its environmental innovations. The versatile potential of moss as a material has sparked global interest, with applications across multiple industries.
