The Embassy in Korea of the People's Republic of China appointed Korean singer and actress Jang Na-ra to be a "public relations envoy for China."
With the commencement of the Chinese culture center and Web site, the embassy plans to host various events at the Shilla Hotel on Feb. 12, including the nominating ceremony for Jang, embassy staff said.
Jang gladly accepted the title, the embassy staff said. Jang is famous in both Korea and China, and is especially popular with teenagers.
