Lee Dae-ho arrives with his wife and daughter at Gimhae International Airport in Busan on Thursday.

Lee Dae-ho of the Fukuoka Softbank Hawks returned to Korea on Thursday after his team won the 2014 Nippon Professional Baseball Japan Series.

Lee, who moved from the Orix Buffaloes to the Hawks at the end of last season, had 19 homeruns, 68 RBIs and a batting average of 0.300 this season. During the Japan Series against the Hanshin Tigers, Lee recorded a 0.333 batting average with one homerun and four RBIs.

The Hawks beat the Tigers 4-1 in the best of seven series to claim the title. This was the first professional title for Lee, who debuted in 2001 with the Lotte Giants based in Busan, Korea.

Lee is determined to have a better season next year. His batting average with runners in scoring positions was just 0.244, and his overall performance was not up to his 2013 records -- a batting average of 0.303, 91 RBIs and 24 homeruns.

"This season was physically and mentally tough," Lee said. "Now, I want to spend a lot of time with my family."

He plans to take a break for now and take part in various charity activities while at home.
