Sulli

Actress and former K-pop star Sulli (25) was found dead in an apparent suicide in her home in Seongnam, south of Seoul on Monday.

Police said her manager discovered her body at her home at around 3:21 p.m., saying that the star, whose real name is Choi Jin-ri, had been suffering from depression.

Sulli last spoke with her manager at 6:30 p.m. Sunday but could not be reached afterwards. He went to her home the next day and found her body on the second floor.

She did not leave a suicide note. Police apparently found a diary but declined to comment on the contents.

Sulli debuted in a TV drama in 2005 and went on to become a member of girl band f(x) in 2009.

Sulli became a target of cyberbullying in 2014 after she started dating rapper Choiza of hip-hop pair Dynamic Duo, who was 14 years her senior and recently stirred up controversy after a revealing photo shoot with photographer Rotta, who has been jailed for sexually harassing a model.

A police cordon is set up in front of Sulli's home in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province on Monday.

Korea's censorious online community were even more outraged when Sulli during a YouTube broadcast last month accidentally revealed a part of her breast.

Up until her death, Sulli was a co-host of a talk show about cyberbullying.
