Track cyclist Lee Hye-jin rose to No. 1 in the latest women's keirin world rankings released by the International Cycling Union (UCI) on Thursday.

She won a silver medal at the Track Cycling World Championships in Berlin, Germany on Sunday, the best result ever achieved by a senior Korean cyclist at the championships.

Lee earned 3,245 ranking points, surpassing Lee Wai Sze of Hong Kong with 2,937.5. She took the top spot for the first time after spending three months in second place from Dec. 3.
