Min-ho of boy band SHINee was discharged from the military on Sunday amid the cheers of fans waiting for him outside a Marine Corps unit in North Gyeongsang Province.
He thanked the fans who gathered to congratulate him on his release, despite the coronavirus lockdown.
Min-ho also left a handwritten message on a website run by his fans.
"So this day has come for me as well. It hasn't sunk in yet, but I'm excited and happy," he said. "I don't think I've ever had this kind of feeling before so it's hard to describe. But I'm so happy to be discharged from the military safe and sound… I sincerely thank all of my fans who have been waiting for me without forgetting me," he added.
