Irene of girl group Red Velvet will make her big screen debut with the coming-of-age film "Double Patty" set for release next month.
The film revolves around a promising player of ssireum, or traditional Korean wrestling, and an aspiring anchorwoman, who give comfort and encouragement to each other.
In the film, she plays a soon-to-be college graduate who never gives up her dream to be an anchorwoman, while working part-time as a babysitter during the day and also as a server at a restaurant at night.
The film is scheduled to hit local theaters on Feb. 17.
