Michelle Wie West

Korean-American golfer Michelle Wie West is expected to return to the LPGA Tour after a two-year break.

U.S. Golf magazine Golfweek reported on Monday that she signed up for the Kia Classic, which will open on March 25, and the ANA Inspiration, the first major event of the season scheduled to start on April 1.

After failing to make the cut at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship in June 2019, Wie West announced she was taking a break from competition in order to treat a wrist injury and rehabilitate.

In August of that year, she tied the knot with Jonnie West, the director of basketball operations for the Golden State Warriors in the National Basketball Association, and the son of NBA legend Jerry West. The couple had a daughter in June last year.

After giving birth, Wie West said, "I just want that experience of [my daughter] watching me play and hopefully watching me come down the stretch and win a golf tournament." She even posted a photo of herself practicing with her daughter lying on a stroller on her social media.
