The Korea Professional Baseball Players Association made a donation to mark the 10th anniversary of legendary pitcher Choi Dong-won's death on Thursday.
The association donated W11.11 million to ChildFund Korea at 11 a.m. on Nov. 11 to match his No. 11 jersey. (US$1=W1,183)
Choi, who played for the Lotte Giants and the Samsung Lions, is remembered as one of the greatest pitchers in Korean baseball history. He died of colon cancer at the age of 53 in 2011.
The money will be used to help children with cancer.
