Yang Yong-eun poses with his replica trophy from the 2009 PGA Championship at a golf range in Seoul on Tuesday.

Golfer Yang Yong-eun is set to make his debut on the PGA Tour Champions, a professional senior tour for male players aged 50 or over.

Yang, who turns 50 in January next year, will be the second Korean player on the tour after Choi Kyung-ju, 51, who this year became the first Korean to win a PGA Tour Champions event, in just his second year on the tour.

"Turning 50, I've realized that golf is a vocation for me. I would pursue a career as a golfer if I were born again," Yang said. "I often get a lift from simply swinging a golf club whenever I'm depressed or while getting through tough times," he added.

To prepare for his first tournament on the tour, the Mitsubishi Electric Championship to be held in Hawaii from Jan. 20 to 22, Yang plans to leave for the U.S. next week.
