Actress Seo Ye-ji has apologized to fans for scandals surrounding her as she returns to the small screen with "Eve's Scandal."
Seo had kept a low profile since April last year when she abruptly disappeared from the screen amid controversy over her "bizarre" relationship with her ex-boyfriend and actor Kim Jung-hyun.
She was accused of manipulating Kim into being unfaithful while he played the lead in a TV series because she was jealous of his female co-star.
"I am sorry for all controversies and offer my sincere apologies although belatedly," she said in a statement Sunday.
"I took in all the criticism about me and reflected on myself. It's all my fault and I will try my best to be a better person."
Seo is also accused of bullying classmates at school, faking her academic credentials and mistreated staff at her agency. She claimed in many interviews that she studied at a university in Spain, but her agency said that she was only admitted but could not attend it because she had already started her acting career in Korea. It denied the other allegations.
"Eve's Scandal" deals with the divorce lawsuit of a wealthy couple. Other cast members include Lee Sang-yeob and Yoo Sun. It airs on cable channel tvN in the first half of this year.
