Actress Kim Sae-ron was arrested for drunk driving Wednesday after she crashed her car into a transformer box, knocking out electricity in the area for several hours.
Kim, who rose to fame at the age of 12 with the 2010 movie "The Man from Nowhere," was spotted zigzagging in her Land Rover all over a main road in Gangnam at 8 a.m. until she crashed into a street lamp, guard rail and a transformer box.
Security camera footage shows her stopping briefly after the collision before driving on for another 600 m until she is stopped by pedestrians.
Police arrived after reports of a car zigzagging down the road and confirmed through a breathalyzer that Kim was drunk. But she refused further testing and insisted on getting a blood test. She was taken to a nearby hospital and sent home.
A staffer at Kim's management agency said, "The results of the blood test are expected in two weeks, and Kim intends to cooperate sincerely with the police." The agency said it will comment after the results come out and explained that Kim opted to take a blood test "to obtain more accurate results."
There was reportedly a passenger in the car.
The collision knocked out electricity in the surrounding area for three or four hours, blacking out stores and paralyzing traffic lights.
