Disgraced Korean Air heiress Cho Hyun-ah, who became famous in the "nut rage" scandal, has divorced her husband.
The Seoul Family Court on Thursday granted her husband Park Jong-ju's request for a divorce and ordered her to pay him W1.33 billion as part of a division of wealth (US$1=W1,339).
But despite her anger management issues she was granted custody of their twin sons, while Park was ordered to pay her W2.4 million a month in child support.
Cho (48) came to global notoriety in 2014, when she flew into a hysterical fit because she was served nuts in first class in a bag instead of on a plate, assaulted crew and ordered the plane to return to the gate at John. F. Kennedy Airport in New York.
The ruling prompted dismay due to the small size of the asset division ruling. Cho now owns a substantial stake in Hanjin Group, which owns Korean Air, but that is not considered part of the wealth the couple accumulated during their marriage.
Cho (48) married Park, a plastic surgeon, in October 2010. He filed for divorce in 2018, accusing her of verbal and child abuse, but she countersued, accusing him of alcohol addiction and making false claims.
