Veteran actor Han Suk-kyu is set to return to the small screen for the first time in two years.

Han stars in the new series "Recipe for Farewell," which drops on Korean streaming platform Watcha on Thursday.

His last series was "Dr. Romantic" on SBS in 2020.

The 12-episode series revolves around a middle-aged man who learns to cook for his wife who has colon cancer, adapted from a touching true story.

Han plays the 40-something translator and lecturer. "It's a heartwarming drama about the love between husband and a wife and between parents and children," he said.

Kim Seo-hyung, who plays the sick wife, said she joined the project as soon as she heard that Han was to star. "I've watched nearly all of Han's work," she said. "I tried to relax and act naturally like him so that we'd have real chemistry."
