The annual KCON K-pop festival hosted by CJ ENM has attracted over 1.5 million fans over its 11-year history.
KCON took seven years after its launch in Irvine in 2012 to reach a cumulative 1 million visitors in 2019.
CJ ENM estimates that the number of attendees at last weekend's event easily surpassed 100,000 people, who formed long lines around the Los Angeles Convention Center in downtown Los Angeles.
KCON has evolved from a platform showcasing K-pop into an experience of nearly everything Korean businesses have to offer.
Official sponsors of this year's event including Samsung, game developer Pearl Abyss, Asiana Airlines and beauty retail chain Olive Young set up booths to welcome fans.
Between stages where K-pop stars interacted with fans there were also 50 booths from small and medium-sized enterprises in various fields such as beauty, fashion, food, and lifestyle, where fans of all things Korean formed long lines for giveaways.
