Actor Daniel Henney has tied the knot with Japanese model and actress Ru Kumagai.
The announcement of the heartthrob's surprise marriage was made through a press release from his management agency last Friday, saying that "he found a person he wants to spend the rest of his life with."
Rumors that the pair were dating emerged in April 2018, but they denied the relationship at the time, saying they were "just close colleagues who met at a private gathering." But since then the relationship between the two gradually evolved from a friendship into a romantic one.
"Recently, the two quietly held a wedding with close friends and family members from both sides in attendance," the agency added.
Henney, whose mother is Korean, rose to fame in Korea through his appearance in "My Lovely Sam Soon" in 2005 and has since starred in a number of Korean and American films and dramas. Kumagai, who is active in the U.S., has appeared in TV series like "9-1-1" (2018) and "Good Trouble" (2021).
