G-dragon speaks to reporters as he leaves a police station in Incheon on Monday.

G-Dragon of moribund boy band BigBang was questioned by police on drug abuse charges on Monday and submitted hair and urine samples for testing.

An instant drug test had yielded negative results, but police said it would only show drug use within the last five to 10 days, so his samples were sent to the National Forensic Service for detailed analysis.

Asked if he felt police were going too far in hounding suspects, G-Dragon told reporters after leaving the police station, "They are doing their jobs based on tip-offs. I cooperated with the questioning and told the truth."

Earlier, G-Dragon issued a statement through his attorney that read, "I never took drugs and I have nothing to do with the recent media reports of drug abuse."

But on Monday he seemed twitchy in a way that some observers have identified as drug-related symptoms.

Police claim to have uncovered a speakeasy in Gangnam for the rich and famous where drug abuse was rampant, but so far all test results in connection with the case have come back negative.
