TWICE, a leading K-pop girl group, clinched the No. 1 spot on the U.S. Billboard 200 with their new mini-album ‘With YOU-th’, marking a historic achievement as the first non-English album of the year to top the chart since their debut.
The group’s new mini-album ‘With YOU-th’, which was released on Feb. 23, sold 95,000 units, according to Luminate, a provider of music and entertainment data in the U.S. This impressive feat helped TWICE to reach the top of the ‘Billboard 200′ chart.
Previously, TWICE had set a record for the highest sales volume among K-pop girl groups on Billboard with their previous work ‘READY TO BE’. The album entered the ‘Billboard 200′ at 2nd place in March last year and achieved a combined sales volume of 153,000 from album and streaming.
Since their first entry into the ‘Billboard 200′ chart with their ninth mini-album ‘MORE & MORE’ in June 2020, TWICE has set the record for the most entries into the ‘Billboard 200′ chart among K-pop girl groups. Their albums ‘Eyes wide open’, ‘Taste of Love’, ‘Formula of Love: O+T=<3′, ‘BETWEEN 1&2′, ‘READY TO BE’, and now ‘With YOU-th’ have all made it to the chart.
It is noteworthy that TWICE also wrote the record for the first ‘Billboard 200′ No. 1 album of the year based on non-English albums.
TWICE’s latest album ‘With YOU-th’ has made it to the million-seller ranks, selling 1,063,615 copies in the first week of its release, according to the Hanteo Chart.
Having debuted in October 2015, TWICE has marked a new personal record with their album released in their 10th debut year, 2024, achieving their first million-selling album in initial sales and securing the No. 1 spot on the ‘Billboard 200′.
As a representative K-pop girl group with a history of numerous records, TWICE’s consistency and continuous growth stand out as a remarkable achievement, garnering congratulations and support from fans worldwide, including their fandom ONCE.
Previously, TWICE’s album ‘With YOU-th’ had topped the iTunes album chart worldwide for three consecutive days from Feb. 23 to 26.
It had reached the top position in 25 regions across the globe, including the U.S., Japan, and Mexico. Additionally, the music video for the title track ‘ONE SPARK’ had recorded No. 1 on YouTube’s music video trending worldwide for three days starting from Feb. 24.
TWICE is set to continue their fifth world tour ‘READY TO BE’ with a performance at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, USA, on Mar. 16.
This will mark their 49th show in 27 regions worldwide. In July, they will become the first foreign female artists to perform as ‘global stadium artists’ at Yanmar Stadium Nagai in Osaka, Japan, and Nissan Stadium in Kanagawa.
