The South Korean girl group IVE has achieved another milestone by reaching ‘100 MILLION streams’ on Billboard Japan’s record chart.
Billboard Japan announced on Mar. 13 that the title track ‘I AM’ from IVE’s first full-length album ‘I’ve IVE’ has accumulated over 100 million streams on the latest Streaming Songs Chart.
Released in April last year, ‘I AM’ quickly entered the Billboard Japan Streaming Songs Chart at 14th place. This achievement marks IVE’s fourth song to surpass the 100 million stream threshold on Billboard Japan, following their debut song ‘ELEVEN,’ their second single ‘LOVE DIVE,’ and their third single ‘After LIKE.’ The significance of IVE’s fourth 100 million stream accomplishment was emphasized on Billboard Japan’s official website, showcasing the group’s influential music.
IVE, at the forefront of this international acclaim, embarked on a world tour titled ‘Show What I Have,’ which started in Seoul last October. The group’s performances in Yokohama, Fukuoka, and Osaka, Japan, attracted approximately 78,000 attendees, reaffirming their popularity and standing in the local market.
Having officially debuted in Japan in October 2022, IVE quickly captured attention with their debut single album ‘ELEVEN,’ certified as a ‘Gold Disc’ by the Japan Record Association. Their subsequent Japanese album’ WAVE,’ released in May of the previous year, climbed local music charts, securing the top spots on the Oricon Daily and Weekly Album Charts, the Tower Records All-Store Comprehensive Album Chart, and the Billboard Japan Weekly Top Album Sales Chart.
IVE’s growing popularity has also led to increased interest from Japanese media. The group has appeared on prominent Japanese music shows, including Japan’s Red & White Year-end Song Festival called NHK’s ‘Kohaku Uta Gassen’ and TBS’s ‘CDTV Live! Live!’, Fuji TV’s ‘Mezamashi TV,’ and TV Asahi’s ‘Music Station,’ further solidifying their popularity in Japan.
On Mar. 13 (local time), IVE is set to connect with fans in the United States, starting in Los Angeles, and will continue their ‘Show What I Have’ tour with performances in Oakland, Fort Worth, Atlanta, Rosemont, and Newark.
