YG Entertainment’s latest girl group, BabyMonster, is ready to make its debut on the global music scene, joining forces with top producers.

After about a year of preparation following their first reveal in January of the previous year, BabyMonster announced their debut in November with “BATTER UP.” Initially formed as a seven-member group, BabyMonster began their activities as a six-member group after member Ahyeon could not join due to health reasons just before their debut.

BabyMonster has cemented their status as an “all-rounder” group through their compelling performances in both hip-hop and pop ballads with “BATTER UP” and “Stuck In The Middle.” With the return of Ahyeon, the seven girls are signaling a fresh start as a complete unit with the upcoming release of their first mini-album “BABYMONS7ER” on April 1.

The official debut album of the fully assembled group has drawn high expectations, showcasing seven diverse tracks that span from hip-hop to ballads, underscoring the significant effort invested over a long period. The album features enhanced quality with a solid lineup of contributions from producer CHOICE37, who has supported BabyMonster since before their debut, alongside producer DEE.P, Choi Hyun-suk from the boy group TREASURE, and a number of leading international writers.

Notably, the participation of global pop star Charlie Puth in the track “LIKE THAT” has sparked interest. Previously, Ahyeon had covered Charlie Puth’s “Dangerously,” receiving high praise from the American singer-songwriter and global fans alike, adding to the curiosity about the synergy between Charlie Puth and BabyMonster.

YG Entertainment said, “With the voices of all seven members, BabyMonster’s first mini-album is finally complete,” expressing confidence that “the album will not only showcase their solid musical capabilities but also the perfect harmony and identity of the team.”

In addition to the track featuring Charlie Puth, “SHEESH,” the title track, is attracting considerable attention. While “BATTER UP” presented a bright, wholesome image, “SHEESH” introduces a darker concept within the hip-hop genre. Titled “SHEESH,” an exclamation of astonishment, the song blends Baroque piano and grand synthesizers, fueling curiosity in YG’s signature hip-hop genre. It features an addictive chorus and bold performances, heightening anticipation.
