Le Sserafim member Kim Chae-won is set to embark on her first solo collaboration.
Kim will feature on U.S. singer-songwriter Tori Kelly’s upcoming track “Spruce (feat. Kim Chaewon of Le Sserafim),” set to be released on April 5.
Kim expressed her excitement and gratitude through her agency, Source Music.
“I’m thankful and honored to participate in Tori Kelly’s track as she is an artist I respect.”
“The song was good from the first time I heard it. I remember how much I was looking forward to the day I would record this track,” the Le Sserafim member said.
Tori Kelly also mentioned the collaboration during an interview with British music magazine NME.
“Kim happily accepted to be featured for the song ‘spruce,’ and it was awesome. We worked on the song remotely,” the singer said.
Kelly also praised Kim for Kim’s amazing voice. “I had no notes.”
The synergy between the two artists is highly anticipated.
Kim’s cover video of Hikaru Utada’s “First Love” on Le Sserafim’s official YouTube channel hit 25 million views as of 7 a.m. on April 4. Meanwhile, Tori Kelly earned two awards at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards for her “Hiding Place” album in 2018.
Le Sserafim is set to perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, the biggest music festival in the U.S., on April 13 and 20. After their debut, the girl group will be the fastest Korean act to perform solo at the festival.
