BoA, also known as the ‘Queen of K-pop,’ who has reached her 24th debut anniversary this year, has once again posted on social media, seeming to imply retirement.

BoA wrote on her Instagram story on Apr. 7, “My contract ends Dec. 31, 2025! Until then, I will do my best as a singer happily. Don’t worry, my beloved Jumping BoAs (BoA fandom name).”

The day before, she had posted a message implying retirement, but then followed it up with another message hinting that she had already decided on the timing of her retirement.

BoA shared on her Instagram story on Apr. 7, that her contract as a singer is valid until Dec. 31, 2025, and she promised to do her best until then. She also reassured her fans, known as Jumping BoAs, that they need not worry. /BoA's instagram

On Apr. 6, BoA shared a message on her Instagram story, suggesting retirement after the expiration of her legal contract. Though she initially made a typo in the word ‘retirement,’ she corrected it later.

She posted three messages on Instagram over the course of two days, all of which hinted at her retirement. Her fans expressed concern for her decision but also sent words of support and encouragement.

In response to her post, fans left comments such as, “I hope BoA is always happy”, “It’s painful to think about what BoA has gone through although we don’t know exactly. Whatever you do, we will always support you,” and “Thank you for considering your fans in your post. Let’s create happy memories until then.”

BoA recently revealed her exhaustion due to hateful comments about her appearance during her participation in tvN’s drama ‘Marry My Husband,’ which ended in February.

During her Instagram live broadcast, she addressed the recent criticism she has received about her appearance, particularly her lips. She explained that she has a habit of biting her lips, causing her makeup to spread and giving the impression of unnatural lips. Despite concerns from many people, she assured her fans that her lips are perfectly fine and there is no need for worry.

This is not the first time that BoA has expressed her feelings about hateful comments about her.

On Mar. 29, BoA posted a message on her Instagram story to address online haters. In her post, she expressed her frustration with people who criticize her appearance, whether she’s too skinny or not. She also told her haters not to waste their lives being negative and critical of others.

Also, in a recent interview with Channel A’s ‘Open Interview’ on Mar. 30, BoA further discussed the impact of hate comments on public figures like herself. She emphasized that idols have feelings, too, and deserve respect as human beings. Bo said she wants people to see celebrities as human beings with feelings like them, not just “punching bags” for criticism.
