In the middle of a dispute between HYBE and its affiliate ADOR’s CEO Min Hee-jin, the K-pop girl group NewJeans is going strong with a new song.
“How Sweet,” a double single, will be released by NewJeans on May. 24. at 1 p.m., according to ADOR. The title track “How Sweet,” the non-title track “Bubble Gum,” and instrumental songs for each track make up the single’s total of four tracks.
The upbeat hip-hop track “How Sweet” is built around Miami bass. According to ADOR, it perfectly encapsulates the stylish and laid-back attitude of NewJeans members.
“The more you listen to it, the more you come to love the song. There is fresh choreography, style, and music. We put a lot of effort into our choreographic practice. Enjoy the choreography, please,” said NewJeans.
A music video for “Bubble Gum” that looked like a youth film initially caught the public’s attention, introducing the city-pop genre to the public. It’s a catchy song with a straightforward drum rhythm and a great vibe. “Seeing our true selves in the music video was a pleasant surprise. We’ve gone on a friendship trip, it seems,” NewJeans continued. “We hope you can enjoy a calm summer with our song.”
