The South Korean girl group NewJeans is continuing their activities despite conflicts between their agency, ADOR, and Min Hee-jin, the agency’s CEO, and their parent company, HYBE.
NewJeans announced that they will be attending seven university festivals this month and donating all the proceeds.
On May. 25, ADOR announced on their official fan community, Phoning, “We successfully completed NewJeans’ first comeback stage yesterday.”
They also shared their upcoming university festival schedule. Starting with Korea University, NewJeans will perform at a total of seven university festivals in May.
ADOR stated, “All proceeds from the university festivals will be donated,” and added, “We ask for your continued interest and love for the upcoming activities.”
Previously, on May. 24, NewJeans made a comeback with their double single album ‘How Sweet’, recording 810,000 sales on the first day of release. The title track is also ranking high on summer music charts.
Meanwhile, the conflict between ADOR’s CEO Min Hee-jin and their parent company HYBE continues. HYBE accused Min of breach of duty, which she strongly denies.
HYBE plans to present a motion to dismiss Min at the ADOR shareholders’ meeting on May. 31. In response, Min has filed an injunction to prevent HYBE from exercising its voting rights at the shareholders’ meeting.
