Son Heung-min (32), a player for Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premier League (EPL), shared his reflections on completing his ninth season in the EPL, stating, “I will strive to become a more mature and growing player next year.”

On May. 25, Son posted a message on social media stating, “This was my first season serving as captain at Tottenham, and I have completed the season.”

He went on to say, “There were many shortcomings and difficult moments, but thanks to the coaching staff, support staff, fellow players, and the fans who always sent a lot of support and love, I was able to overcome those challenging moments and learn from them.”

Son also expressed his gratitude for the fans’ unwavering support throughout the season, regardless of time and place, and thanked them for making him feel happy every time.

In the 2023-2024 season, Son scored 17 goals and provided 10 assists in the regular league, marking his third time achieving a 10-goal, 10-assist season. In the English Premier League (EPL), players who have achieved 10 goals and 10 assists in three or more seasons include Wayne Rooney, Mohamed Salah (5 times), Eric Cantona, and Frank Lampard (4 times), and Didier Drogba (3 times).

Son returned to Korea on May. 23 and will rest before participating in two consecutive national matches next month. On Jun. 2, he will depart for Singapore with his South Korean national team teammates for the fifth match of the 2026 World Cup Asia second qualifying round against Singapore on Jun. 6. The sixth match will be against China at home on Jun. 11.
