An online user, identifying as a Blackpink fan, said, “I thought it was filmed in Capri, Italy, which I recently visited. I asked the Korean Embassy in Italy to investigate through the Anti-corruption and Civil Rights Commission.” The user urged the Korean Embassy in Italy to request an investigation by Italian authorities and to punish Jennie for smoking indoors strictly.

Although the vlog has since been deleted, the segment allegedly showing Jennie smoking has circulated widely online. This incident is reminiscent of similar controversies involving other K-pop idols, including EXO’s D.O. and NCT’s Haechan, who both faced fines and apologized after being caught smoking indoors.
