K-pop girl group 2NE1 is demonstrating their lasting global influence with multiple additional shows for their 15th-anniversary concert.
According to YG Entertainment, the group’s management agency, on Sept. 2, all tickets for the Japan tour, “2024 2NE1 Concert [Welcome Back] In Japan,” sold out for the two shows each in Kobe and Tokyo. Due to high demand, two more shows have been added: one in Kobe on Nov. 29 and one in Tokyo on Dec. 13.
With these additions, 2NE1 will have concerts on Nov. 29 and 30 and Dec. 1 at Kobe World Hall, and Dec. 13 to 15 at Tokyo Ariake Arena, totaling six shows.
During their previous activities in Japan, 2NE1 set several records, including being the first foreign artist to top the Oricon Weekly Album Chart with their debut album. Their subsequent studio albums and singles also achieved notable success, and their three tours in Japan were remarkable for their scale and received significant media attention.
The group’s return after 10 years has generated immense excitement among Japanese fans, with explosive ticket demand and a surge in requests for additional shows, reflecting the enduring and unwavering interest in 2NE1 as a K-pop legend and the continued anticipation from fans in Japan.
2NE1′s Seoul solo concerts, scheduled before their Japan tour and originally set for two days, have added an extra performance due to high demand. All three days of shows have sold out, and restricted-view seats have been opened. The overwhelming response from both domestic and international fans highlights the excitement for 2NE1′s full reunion performance.
YG plans to expand the tour schedule to meet global demand, with dates extending into next year. 2NE1 will kick off their legendary comeback with a three-day concert, “2024 2NE1 Concert [Welcome Back] In Seoul,” from Oct. 4 to 6 at Olympic Park’s Olympic Hall.
