Hanwha Corporation will host the “Seoul International Fireworks Festival 2024″ on Oct 5. at Yeouido Hangang Park in Seoul. Since 2000, Hanwha Group has organized this event as part of its social contribution efforts, attracting about 1 million spectators annually. This year’s festival will mark a significant change as tickets for reserved seating will be sold for the first time.
On Sep 2., Hanwha revealed that this year’s festival theme is “Light Up Your Dream,” encouraging people to pursue their aspirations, much like the colorful bursts of fireworks. Fireworks teams from Korea, the United States, and Japan will participate, each putting on their displays between 7 and 8 p.m.
A total of 10,000 seats will be set up in the parking lot and traditional play yard of Yeouido Hangang Park, close to the Hangang River, where the fireworks barges will be anchored. Of these, 2,500 seats will be available for purchase at 150,000 won (around $111) each on a first-come, first-served basis through Ticket Link starting Sep 2. The remaining 7,500 seats will be reserved for organizers and sponsors, with the rest distributed via a lottery system. Those interested in entering the lottery can apply through the “LIFEPLUS TRIBES” app from Sep 2 to 22, with winners announced on Sep 24. Outside these reserved areas, spectators are welcome to spread picnic mats or stand to enjoy the fireworks, although tents are not allowed.
