South Korean actor Jo Jung-suk, best known for his role in the medical K-drama Hospital Playlist, made an impressive debut as a singer with his first full-length album, “Jo Jung-suk.”
The album’s title track, “Champagne,” ranked no. 25 on the Melon HOT 100 chart. His debut album also quickly climbed the ranks on iTunes charts, securing top positions in five countries, including Turkey, Taiwan, the Philippines, and Thailand.
The actor’s successful debut as a singer comes after Netflix released “A-list to Playlist,” a series that documents Jo’s debut project as a singer-songwriter, on August 30. The album, released on August 31, showcases the actor’s foray into music, with Jo participating in songwriting, composing, and producing all the tracks. The title track, “Champagne,” a blues-rock piece, expresses themes of freedom and joy, delivering a message of self-affirmation.
The album features nine tracks that span various genres, including “Aurora,” “Loving, for you,” and “First Hello (feat. Gummy).”
