NewJeans continues to make waves internationally, as their hit song ‘Super Shy’ earns a spot in Pitchfork’s list of the best songs of the decade.

The song has been included in Pitchfork’s list of ‘The 100 Best Songs of the 2020s So Far.’ Released on Sept. 30 (local time), the list ranks ‘Super Shy’ at number 13, making it the only K-pop track to be featured.

‘Super Shy’ is ranked higher than other pop hits, such as Sabrina Carpenter’s ‘Espresso’ (ranked 30th) and Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘good 4 u’ (ranked 28th). Pitchfork described it as NewJeans’ “most effortless masterstroke,” highlighting the track’s seamless blend of drum and bass with Jersey club beats, resulting in a lively yet subtle hook.

The track has also achieved impressive milestones, entering both the Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Official Singles Chart Top 100. In addition, it has surpassed 600 million streams on Spotify.

Pitchfork awarded a score of 7.6 to the mini-album ‘Get Up,’ which features ‘Super Shy,’ marking it as the second-highest-rated K-pop album by the publication. Meanwhile, Lana Del Rey’s ‘A&W’ claimed the top spot on the list.
