Jennie of K-pop group BLACKPINK made her solo comeback on Oct. 11 with the release of her new single “Mantra,” along with a music video.

The digital single and video were released simultaneously at 9 a.m. KST on streaming platforms worldwide, according to her agency, OA Entertainment.

“Mantra” is described as an energetic and empowering song that encourages self-confidence and individuality, urging listeners to embrace their own unique charm. The track carries a message of self-love and mutual support.

“This song is perfect for starting a new era,” Jennie said. “I believe it will make fans happy and show a new side of me as a solo artist. I recorded it in Los Angeles, and I hope people feel the positive energy.”

The music video was directed by Tanu Muino, known for his work with global artists including Lil Nas X, Harry Styles, Doja Cat, and Cardi B. Muino won Best Direction at the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards for Lil Nas X’s “Montero.”

“Mantra” marks Jennie’s first solo release in a year, following her special single “You & Me” in October 2023. Fans are eager to see how her new music will impact the industry.
