The controversy surrounding actor Jung Woo-sung’s extramarital child has continued to escalate, fueling intense public interest and speculation about his private life, leaked personal details, and adjustments to his public schedule. Much of the attention has centered on whether Jung will directly address the situation.

It was recently revealed that Jung is the father of a son born to model Moon Ga-bi, who shared the news on her social media on Nov. 22. In her post, Moon wrote, “I’ve finally found the courage to embrace a more ordinary and happy life as a mother. The news of my pregnancy came so suddenly that I was caught off guard. I spent most of it quietly with my family’s support, rather than fully celebrating or sharing the joy of the experience.”

After Moon’s announcement, the news that Jung fathered the child quickly became a hot topic. Jung’s agency, Artist Company, confirmed the report, stating, “The child Moon Ga-bi mentioned is indeed Jung Woo-sung’s biological son. Discussions are underway to determine the best way to raise the child, and Jung is fully committed to his responsibilities as a father.”

The confirmation sparked a wave of controversy. Public debate has centered on reports that while Jung supported Moon during her pregnancy and childbirth, he has no plans to marry her. A past comment Jung made on YouTube—”It’s not that I didn’t marry; I couldn’t marry”—resurfaced and drew criticism in light of the revelations.

Adding to the uproar were rumors about Jung’s private life. Allegations emerged that Jung, in addition to his relationship with Moon, had been involved with a long-term non-celebrity girlfriend. Photos of Jung appearing affectionate with a woman believed to be the girlfriend, including a photo booth picture of the two together, further fueled accusations of infidelity and claims that he had been leading a double life.

The controversy also raised questions about Jung’s participation in the upcoming 45th Blue Dragon Film Awards, where he is nominated for Best Actor for his role in “12.12: The Day.” The film, which also earned nominations for Best Picture and Best Director, placed Jung as a key figure at the event. However, concerns arose that the awards ceremony might become overshadowed by his personal scandal. Addressing the rumors, Artist Company clarified, “Discussions about Jung’s attendance are ongoing, with the focus on upholding the values and smooth proceedings of the Blue Dragon Film Awards. Reports that he has canceled his appearance are false.”

Meanwhile, a new layer of controversy emerged when a screenshot of a direct message (DM) allegedly sent by Jung to a social media user began circulating online. In the messages, the individual, believed to be Jung, initiates a conversation by complimenting the user’s work, shares personal photos and updates, and offers his phone number within two days, saying, “Shall we connect via text or a messaging app?”

In response to the leaked DMs, Artist Company stated, “Social media interactions between individuals fall within the realm of personal privacy, so we cannot confirm or verify the details.”
