NewJeans, the popular K-pop group that recently announced the termination of their exclusive contract with their agency ADOR, has launched a new Instagram account to update fans about their activities.

On Dec. 14, the group unveiled a new account named “Jeanzforfree.” The members greeted fans through Instagram Stories, posting videos that gave a glimpse into their lives.

The video began with the members waving and cheerfully shouting, “Hi!” They expressed their feelings to fans, saying, “We missed you all so much,” and promised, “We’ll be here more often. This account is where we’ll live now.” Member Danielle added, “Stay warm, don’t catch a cold, and make sure to eat well.”

The members repeatedly emphasized how much they missed their fans, saying, “All five of us missed you so, so much.” They reassured their supporters, “We know many of you are cheering us on and worried about us, but we are strong. We’ll be here frequently, so please wait just a little longer.”

The new account appears to be a result of NewJeans’ ongoing dispute with ADOR, following their announcement to terminate their exclusive contract with the agency. The group seems to have decided against using the Instagram account previously managed by ADOR.

On Nov. 28, NewJeans held an emergency press conference and declared that their exclusive contract would end at midnight on Nov. 29. The group cited unmet demands for improvements and stated that ADOR “lacks the ability and intention to protect NewJeans.”

In response, ADOR filed a lawsuit on Dec. 5 with the Seoul Central District Court, seeking confirmation of the validity of the contract. The agency explained, “We did not wish to resolve this issue through legal proceedings. However, we felt it necessary to clarify for the artists and other stakeholders that an exclusive contract cannot be unilaterally terminated based solely on one party’s claims.”

Despite the ongoing legal battle, NewJeans reiterated their stance, maintaining that they are no longer affiliated with ADOR.
