K-pop idol group BLACKPINK has officially announced its long-anticipated return, unveiling plans for a 2025 world tour that marks the beginning of its next chapter. As one of the most influential acts in global music, the group is expected to make a major impact on the international stage.
On Feb. 6, YG Entertainment, which oversees BLACKPINK’s group activities, released a teaser video titled BLACKPINK 2025 WORLD TOUR TEASER on its official blog, offering the first glimpse of the group’s upcoming project. The announcement comes approximately one year and five months after the conclusion of BORN PINK, BLACKPINK’s last world tour.
The teaser captures the electrifying energy of the group’s previous tour, featuring scenes of massive venues illuminated by a sea of pink light sticks and BLACKPINK’s commanding presence on stage. It underscores the group’s stature as a “legendary girl group” before closing with the words “2025 WORLD TOUR,” heightening anticipation among fans.
Details regarding the tour’s scale and schedule have yet to be disclosed, but expectations are already high. YG Entertainment’s executive producer Yang Hyun-suk previously hinted at BLACKPINK’s return, stating that major projects, including the world tour, are progressing as planned—further fueling excitement among global audiences.
BLACKPINK’s BORN PINK tour, which ran from October 2022 for nearly a year, set a record for K-pop girl groups, drawing approximately 1.8 million attendees across 66 shows in 34 cities. With its status as a top-tier global act firmly established, the group is now preparing to embark on a new chapter.
“We have assembled a dedicated internal project team to support BLACKPINK’s extensive group activities this year, and preparations for the comeback are progressing rapidly,” YG Entertainment said in a statement. “This year will be filled with large-scale projects befitting BLACKPINK’s unparalleled global standing, so please stay tuned for what’s ahead.”
