South Korean boy band TWS has been recognized as one of the must-watch artists in the global music industry this year.
British music publication NME unveiled its annual list, The “NME 100: Essential Emerging Artists for 2025,” on Feb. 12, spotlighting 100 rising acts expected to make a significant impact. TWS—comprised of Shin-yu, Do-hoon, Young-jae, Han-jin, Ji-hoon, and Kyung-min—was the only K-pop boy band to earn a spot on this year’s list.
In its feature, NME highlighted the group’s distinct approach, stating, “K-pop boy bands might be best known for larger-than-life concepts and bombastic songs – but not TWS. The six-member group are taking a more grounded approach by exploring what it means to be a young man in the modern world. The fledgling idols won the hearts of South Koreans in 2024 with their earnest, endearing sound, and it’s only a matter of time before they charm the socks off the rest of the world.”
Since their debut last year, TWS has gained widespread attention for their refreshing melodies and lyrics that capture the essence of youth. Their debut single, plot twist, topped Melon’s “Year-End Chart for 2024,” and the group secured a total of 13 awards, including seven rookie prizes at major industry ceremonies.
The group’s growing influence has also been recognized internationally. Their music was featured in the “25 Best K-pop Songs of 2024″ lists by NME, Billboard, and Dazed. Additionally, American music publication Consequence named TWS its Breakout Act of the Year, calling them a leading force in K-pop’s next generation.
Building on their momentum, TWS is set to hold their first fan meeting, 2025 TWS 1ST FANMEETING <42:CLUB> IN SEOUL, from Feb. 14 to 16 at the SK Olympic Handball Gymnasium, Seoul. The group demonstrated strong ticket demand, selling out all three sessions during the presale round.
