According to SM Entertainment, The Chase combines ethereal sound elements with melodic vocals to create a distinctive atmosphere. The track is driven by a prominent, intense bass synth that underscores its shifting mood. The lyrics convey a message of self-determination, reflecting excitement and curiosity about new possibilities.
The music video follows the group’s eight members on a field trip where they encounter surreal phenomena. Inspired to break away from familiar paths, they head into the city, symbolizing their pursuit of a future shaped on their own terms.
