Taeyeon has proven her title as a vocal powerhouse in the K-pop industry with the most recent Seoul concert.
On March 7-9, “TAEYEON CONCERT – The TENSE” was held in Seoul’s KSPO Dome. As her previous concert was held a year and seven months ago, this concert announcement garnered attention from global fans. Seats sold out completely over three separate fan-club presales, and additional limited-view seats were taken within minutes. A live stream through Beyond Live and Weverse had to be accommodated on the last day due to the overwhelming demand to see her live.

This concert is a milestone for Taeyeon: it celebrated her 10th anniversary as a soloist and coincided with her 36th birthday. Fans’ excitement for her was apparent even before the concert started, with many shouting “Happy birthday Kim Taeyeon!” “I love you Taeyeon!” and “Happy Birthday Taeyeon-ah!” Fans couldn’t help but chant and sing along at every opportunity. One of the standout moments was when the audience collectively sang “Happy Birthday” to Taeyeon, filling the arena with overwhelming support and love. The audience made sure to ardently participate in the other pre-planned events as well, which included a sing-along event and a slogan & card message event.
Any fan of Taeyeon would attest to her powerful vocals, but the range of her performance was truly incredible. From groovier songs to upbeat ones, Taeyeon knew how to adjust the tempo and manipulate the energy to her liking. The concert’s immersive design was enhanced by vibrant lighting, dynamic stage setups, and dazzling visual effects, making each song feel like a unique experience. During the song’s climax, special confetti, scented with citrus, powder, and sweetness, burst out into the stadium.
Taeyeon smiled. “I want to thank all of my S♡NEs (fandom name) for coming to see me from all over the world. Thank you all so, so much.” Taeyeon took a moment to connect with her fans, looking out into the sea of cheering faces and expressing her heartfelt gratitude. “You all made this day so special for me,” she said, visibly touched by the energy of the crowd.
She took a moment to recap her journey as a soloist for the past decade. “It’s been ten years since I began my journey as a soloist, which makes this specific concert even more memorable. I also wanted to celebrate my birthday with you all, so that I can receive this much love.” Reflecting on her 10-year journey, Taeyeon expressed how meaningful it was to celebrate this part of her life with her fans, who have supported her throughout her solo career. “It’s been an incredible ride, and I’m so thankful for every moment,” she shared.
The atmosphere was further elevated when the camera captured well-known figures from the entertainment industry, showing their support for Taeyeon. Hidden in the crowd were Hanhae and P.O. from tvN’s “Amazing Saturday,” IVE’s Liz, Mamamoo’s Moonbyul, GOT7’s BamBam, and broadcasters Jaejae and Seunghun, showing their support.
Taeyeon’s concert was packed with 25 hit songs from her various albums. Noteworthy mentions were her debut song “I,” “Letter to Myself,” “INVU,” “Weekend,” and “Time Lapse.” With every note, Taeyeon proved her growth as an artist. From her early hits to her latest songs, she demonstrated how far she’s come in her solo career, captivating the audience from start to finish. The concert ended with the emotional song “U R” from her first solo album, which took many fans back to Taeyeon’s beginning as a soloist in 2015.
“This is easily the best birthday present I’ll remember in my lifetime,” Taeyeon promised as she took in the slogans fans held in their fingers.
Taeyeon will continue her Asia tour in nine cities, including Taipei on March 16, Manila on March 29, Jakarta on April 12, Tokyo on April 19-20, Macau on March 26, Singapore on May 3-4, Bangkok on May 31-June 1, and Hong Kong on June 7, creating more memories with local fans.
“Although the Seoul concert has come to an end, this is just the beginning.”
