Blackpink’s Jennie Kim became the first K-pop solo artist to win an award at the 2025 Billboard Women in Music ceremony.

The K-pop star received the Global Force Award at the Billboard Women in Music event held at the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles on March 29.

“Words cannot express how thankful I am,” she said in a heartfelt acceptance speech. “This award is a tribute to every woman who dares to dream, and create, and shape the world with her vision,” she said. “Women are a powerful force and when we come together, we can uplift each other with every step.”

Billboard Women in Music is an annual awards ceremony that honors female artists, creators, producers, and executives who have significantly contributed to the music industry. Billboard previously introduced Jennie as “a jet-setting artist with a devoted worldwide fan base.”

Jennie released her first solo album, “Ruby,” earlier this month. The album entered the Billboard 200 albums chart for two consecutive weeks, with the title track “like JENNIE” ranking in the top 10 on both the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. and Global 200 charts for two straight weeks.

Jennie will perform as a solo artist at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival on April 13 and 20.
